Cardiovascular Benefits
Cardiovascular is an important component of general health.
The most important muscle in the body is the heart. The number one killer in most of the developed world is cardiovascular disease (CVD). In the U.S. alone, CVD affects about 50 million people. Luckily CVD is preventable. Eating a healthy diet and exercising is all it takes.Regular exercise improves cardiovascular function. In addition, it reduces your risk of coronary artery disease. Exercise can also help lower your blood pressure, increase good cholesterol and decrease your body fat. Moreover, regular exercise has been shown to decrease depression and anxiety.
A majority of professionals agree that cardiovascular training should last for 20 to 60 minutes. In addition, it should be performed a minimum of 3 days, with 4-5 being optional and 6 being the max. In order for exercise to be considered cardiovascular, you need to elevate your heart rate 60-80% of the maximum rate. Therefore, when you are in the zone you should be able to talk but not carry on a long conversation.
